It comes from a compatibility issue between the nForce 3 and AGP. I can't recall the exact specifics but with an nForce 3 and similar chipsets of the day from SiS and a few others when they had a dual-core CPU in them, they'd change the AGP port to use a PCI driver or something of that nature to enable multi-core support as it was hacked on late in their development. On Windows Vista and up, such a workaround won't work.

SiS and a few others issued driver updates for their motherboard chipsets which sorted it, nVidia didn't bother, despite nForce 3 being sold as Vista compatible. They caught me out with both. There is a workaround that will kind of work, but as you may have guessed you'll have to disable one of your CPU's cores. You can do this by going to msconfig, clicking the Boot tab, clicking Advanced options Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help. Tell us about your experience with our site. Windows 7 Pro 32 bit reports after driver installation that no drivers are present. There have been hotfix drivers provided by ATI to address these issues but these drivers have not solved the issues. Has anyone had any success with this installation, and if so, would you please provide me with how you accomplished this?

BTW, I performed the ususal uninstall and then install, reinstalled the OS via a clean install and then installed the drivers, etc, etc.

So far, nothing has worked. After googling this issue I found that many others have had similar experiences with these driver issues. This thread is locked.
