I have the same question LemP Replied on August 6, Disconnect your printer from the computer. Select the icon for your printer, right-click and delete it. Do not connect the printer yet. Try printing a test page.

I took the extra precaution of rebooting after installing the drivers, etc for Canon. Once that was done, I plugged in the printer and got the new hardware found notification. An unsigned driver was trying to install, and I clicked Continue Anyway. This began to look very familiar to me.
