Pdf Printer Driver Windows 8.1 Install Update
I have the latest version of Acrobat pro and it is updated with the latest patches. The printer driver does not show and I am unable to print a PDF from either another application or by right clicking on a document and selecting export to PDF.
When I do right click it gives me the option to repair but the repair doesn't make any difference. For some reason there are 2 adobe printers that show up in Word when I try to print. Seems a bit of a mess, but there's nothing extraordinary about this PC and it doesn't have any malware installed. An important bit of information that is missing is your version of Acrobat. If it is AA XI, then be sure to do the updates. If you have other versions of Acrobat, then it may be a compatibility issue.
Sorry for bumping this but I was hoping someone could help me before I go for a complete wipe and reinstall of Windows. If I had to guess I'd say the installer is detecting remnants of an old install and not installing the PDF printer. Just a wild guess however. I can only hope someone else drops by to help. The only issue that I can think of is that the installs should be done with the adminstrator and anti-virus disabled.

I have just installed Pagemaker 7 on my new Windows 8 laptop and all works well except when I attempt to create a pdf file. I get a message "Exporting a pdf file requires a PostScript printer driver. I have looked on the Adobe web-site and tried Google but cannot find any help. Can anyone help me find a PostScript driver for Windows 8, please, or tell me how I create a pdf file from Pagemaker 7 using Windows 8? Because I was able to install and run Pagemaker 7 under Windows 8, yes Claudio, I was expecting it to run flawlessly. Fortunately I didn't let Cloaudio's posting discourage me and I now have Pagemaker 7 running flawlessly in Windows 8, including the ability to create pdf files using the Export option. You will recall that after I installed Pagemaker I was unable to create a pdf file, getting an error message telling me to load a PostScript driver, which I couldn't find out how to do - hence my original posting asking for help.
