Dell Xps L502x Touchpad Driver Download Install Update

Recently bought a Dell XPS 15 with the FHD screen, bought the model because the reviews on the net said it had a good trackpad which I think is the the most important part about a laptop.

However, after having used it, I have realized that the windows precision touchpad drivers ruins the whole experience There are two main problems that it creates, and these are not hardware-related I have tested other drivers. There is a small lag before moving, mm. It's little but it makes it very difficult to move the mouse a few pixels to do something. This is the most annoying. When you use the thumb to click and then drag something with the indexfinger, the thumb should deactivate But this doesn't happen.

Then the cursor just lags, and just does't move correctly, see my video. Link a movie from my computer: Is this something that the windows will fix soon?? Otherwise I have to return and buy the Asus using proprietary software and not Windows I understand your concern, this issue happens when the drivers are not compatible. Please follow the below methods and check if it helps.

I suggest you to try installing drivers in compatibility mode and check if the issue persists. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists. Try to run Hardware Troubleshooter. It checks for common issues and makes sure that any new device or hardware attached to your computer was installed correctly. In the new window, click View all on the left pane.

In the list of options, click on Hardware and devices. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions. Did this solve your problem? Sorry this didn't help. I have spooken to Dell and read on forums and this is a problem for ALL dells using precision touchpad.

So the problem is with the current up to date from Microsoft, I therefore wonder when Microsoft will fix the lag? And also add the function no touchzone for the thumb if you click with the thumb and navigate with the indexfinger? However, most of the issues are fixed by installing Windows Updates, make sure that your system is up-to-date.

Type Windows Updates in search bar and select Check for updates from the results. If updates are available, try installing them and check. I suggest you to Roll back the driver and check if it helps. From reading other forums it is clear that this is not only all Dells using precision touchpads but all laptops using it. I have a Lenovo doing the same. I also have the latest updates. I have read on the HP forums and they have the same problems with precision touchpads. I get frustrated that all I get from Microsoft is the standard steps of updating drivers etc.

The only thing missing is being told to try switching it off and on again. Click on Device Manager. Expand the Touchpad drivers. Double-click the device for which you want to restore the driver. Click the Driver tab, and then click Roll Back Driver. LoL so after saying we should make sure drivers are up to date we now need to go back to old drivers?

Have a Dell XPS 13 and my touchpad precision is a lot worse then any other touchpad I have ever used. I finally disabled tap to click, and zoom function just to get it usable. If this is better I want to know how? I used Apple touchpads for years with all the same gestures and not a single issue. Clearly the Microsoft ideal of a precision touchpad has not fixed the problem with PC touchpads.
